We have four children and one son-in-law. For a short while we had everyone here, even Courtney and Drew from California. We celebrated Christmas early so they could travel on to be with Drew’s family. I’m learning, as my Mom says, “Christmas is a Season, not a day”.
Of our four kids ALL of them inherited their father’s sense of humor and quick wit.
This makes for interesting parental moments when their quick wit enables them to debate anything better than you. You can’t decide whether you want to laugh or pull your hair out. And they know this!
My mind doesn’t think that fast. I’m more slow and steady I suppose.
I’m the person who thinks of the perfect reply…2 hours later.
In my defense, I’m better with math than any of them. Husband included.
They are each super creative (which I’ll claim they get from me).
Creativity takes many forms.
My son, Garrison, is the creative genius behind LEON…a Family Christmas Tradition. No matter how often the letters are moved to say NOEL he finds a new arrangement.
Regardless of how letters are arranged
or family traditions (both silly and sentimental)
or the many stressful intrusions that take our eyes off the true meaning of the season
The sentiment will always be the same.
The celebration of the greatest gift ever given. The greatest gift ever to be received.
Wishing each and every one of you a most BLESSED CHRISTMAS! I pray we ALL open our hearts, receive and worship Jesus this Noel.
