Hi there! I’m Courtney, Sonya’s eldest, favorite daughter and the blogger behind Shabby Loves Chic. Today I’m guest posting for my Mom and wanted to share with you my holiday gift wrap and DIY gift tags for this year!
When I started thinking about gift wrap for this year I knew that I wanted to incorporate gold somehow, it’s kind of my favorite color right now. I ran across a roll of gold with silver glitter polka dots gift wrap during one of my many Target trips a few weeks back and knew it was absolutely perfect!
When I wrap gifts I tend wrap with a “more the merrier” and “the bigger the better” mentality. Maybe its a Southern thing? Big hair, big gift wrap.
On these gifts I used 3 different kinds of “ribbon.”
Creamy pom pom yarn
Gold glitter eyelash yarn
Lt gold glitter eyelash yarn
I will let you in on a little secret, if you didn’t already know, the yarn section at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s has the cutest stuff for gift wrapping!
The gift tags were a first time DIY project I did using an idea from one of my favorite blogs, Kelli Murray.
You will need:
Sculpey oven bake clay
bakers twine (I used white and gold sparkle baker’s twine from Inspire Lovely)
paint (I used a gold metallic Martha Stewart craft paint)
paint pen (I used my new favorite thing, a fine point gold metallic Sharpie paint pen!!!)
**I also used a silver shimmer ink pad + swirly letter stamps to personalize each tag
(You can see Kelli’s entire project and directions here on A Beautiful Mess)
I hope these inspire you to get creative with your gift wrap this holiday season! You can see a few more gift wrap ideas and lots of free gift tag printables over here on my blog!
