Aqua & Brown, Animal Prints & Floral for Master Bed & Bath

Aqua & Brown Animal Print Pillows (2)When Laura contacted me several months ago she was ready to begin looking for fabrics for her master bedroom and living room in her new home. Laura lives several hours outside the OKC area but we were able to schedule a day to meet and go shopping together. Up until that day she was still unsure what look she wanted for her master bedroom.

When Laura saw these fabrics…the decision was made! She fell in LOVE with the aqua and brown color scheme as well as the animal print fabrics. Once the fabrics were chosen we went to work decided what would go where.

For her master bed we made two large euro pillows out of the cheetah fabric, each with a double ruffle in aqua and brown.

Aqua & Brown Animal Print Ruffled PillowsA large bolster pillow was made using a gorgeous aqua and brown floral as the focal fabric. This floral was our inspiration fabric and was used for her master bedroom window treatments as well.

The bolster features an onion ball fringe and ruffles with a simple cording on each end.

For her adjoining master bath we made a simple little cafe curtain to go over the window above the tub. This window treatment mixes the two different animal prints with a brown crinkle ruffle and a touch of solid aqua.

The same aqua and brown zebra print used on the cafe curtain was repeated in a box pleated bed skirt for the master bedroom.

Whenever possible, I like to incorporate a band along the platform (the white fabric that lays between the mattress and box springs) of the bedskirt. This is usually about 3″ wide and makes a nice custom edge to the bed skirt. It also keeps you from seeing the white platform peeking between the mattresses. Sometime, I’ll use one of the contrasting fabrics in the color scheme as the banding.

The panels hung with one panel pulled back with a medallion to the left and one to the right. Each panel has a 4″ brown ruffle and onion ball fringe along the lead edge.

Aqua & Brown Floral Window Treatment Sorry, I don’t have a picture of the window treatments after the installation. These pics were taken before Laura’s curtains were delivered.

Aqua & Brown Floral Window Treatment (2)I was so very pleased with the end results. Laura made a great choice with these gorgeous fabrics and color scheme.

All fabrics were purchased at Fabrics Unlimited in OKC.
