We have an ottoman in our living room that is the perfect size.
Just the right height to use as an extra seat. The perfect size for a little dog to curl up on. And just the right size to use with this big ‘ole leather chair.
It originally belonged to my grandparents and was paired with a rocker-recliner that matched this lovely sofa with it’s award winning fabric.
Isn’t this something? If you’re like me this fabric brings back many memories.
I’m sure it was the ultimate is stylish decor in it’s heyday.
Years later, after my grandparents passed away, I inherited the rocker and ottoman.
I promptly recovered them both.
Looking back at these pictures I think I must have had a thing for Jester’s.
It looks like a Jester’s costume! But I loved it.
The rocker didn’t hold up as well as the ottoman, and while I hated to part with it, we later sold it in a garage sale.
But the ottoman hung around.
I’d been planning to recover the ottoman since about the time the chair was sold but just couldn’t get around to it.
This made me get around to it.
The new stripe fabric was literally a spur-of-the-moment purchase during a fabric sale.
I have a weakness for fabric sales. Real ones. Not this 15% off nonsense. But REAL ones.
Not all of my impulse fabric buys are winners but this one was.
The new slipcover is basically the same style as the old one with the exception of using one fabric and less pleats.
I expect this one will get dirty long before it wears out but since I have a total of $8 in the fabric I’m okay with that.
Looking pretty good for a 40+ yr old ottoman.
